Which composer's works are cataloged in the Köchel-Verzeichnis, denoted by 'K' or 'KV' numbers?
Show answer
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Ludwig von Köchel created this chronological catalog in 1862 to organize Mozart's prolific output of over 600 compositions. Before this system, it was difficult to distinguish between his many works because he rarely dated his original manuscripts. A famous example of this system in use is Mozart's final masterpiece, the Requiem, which is officially designated as K. 626.
