Which 1991 song by Nirvana is credited with bringing 'grunge' music into the mainstream?

Smells Like Teen Spirit

The song's title was inspired by a friend of Kurt Cobain's who wrote 'Kurt smells like Teen Spirit' on his wall, referring to a brand of deodorant. Its success surprised the band and their record label.
