Which U.S. President was an expert wrestler and a licensed bartender before entering politics?

Abraham Lincoln

Lincoln’s strength and celebrated wrestling match with local champion Jack Armstrong helped build his reputation in New Salem. In 1833, Lincoln and William Berry’s partnership obtained a one-year tavern license, but the license itself was issued in Berry’s name.
