Question of the Day #70 · June 1, 2026
The terrifying roar of the T-Rex in the 1993 film Jurassic Park was created by slowing down the recording of what baby animal?
Show answer
Baby elephant
A baby elephant’s scream supplied the key high-frequency element of the T. rex roar, while other animal sounds added lower tones. Sound designer Gary Rydstrom reused that same rare elephant recording for every T. rex roar in the film.
