What type of cloud produces thunderstorms?

Cumulonimbus
Known as 'the king of clouds,' cumulonimbus clouds can grow vertically up to 10 miles high into the atmosphere. Their flat, anvil-shaped tops are caused by the cloud hitting the ceiling of the lower atmosphere and spreading out.
