Which Russian art critic and impresario founded the Ballets Russes and commissioned Igor Stravinsky to compose 'The Firebird' and 'The Rite of Spring'?

Sergei Diaghilev

Diaghilev brought together avant-garde composers, dancers, and visual artists, including Picasso. His Ballets Russes premiered Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring in 1913; the first night was famously disorderly, although scholars dispute the later story that it became a full-scale riot.
