Which hormone regulates sleep-wake cycles?

Show answer

Melatonin

Often called the 'hormone of darkness,' melatonin is produced by the pineal gland in response to evening light levels. Its production is easily disrupted by the blue light emitted from smartphones and computer screens, which can trick the brain into staying awake.
