What organ produces bile?

Show answer

Liver

The liver produces about 800 to 1,000 milliliters of bile every day, which is then stored in the gallbladder until you eat. This greenish-yellow fluid is essential for digestion because it breaks down fats into smaller fatty acids that the body can absorb.
