What is the medical term for fainting?
Show answer
Syncope
Syncope occurs when there is a temporary drop in blood flow to the brain, often caused by a sudden dip in heart rate or blood pressure. It is the body's way of resetting itself; by falling flat, the heart no longer has to pump blood against gravity to reach the brain.
