Who painted "American Gothic"?

Grant Wood

The house featured in the painting still stands in Eldon, Iowa, and was built in a style known as Carpenter Gothic. Interestingly, the models for the stern-looking couple were not a husband and wife, but rather Grant Wood's sister and his local dentist.
